Awesome Quote

"There's a word for a writer who never gives up... published."
-- J.A. Konrath

I don't know what's cooler about this quote, the fact that it's true, or that a mystery writer said it. (Thanks for sending it to me Sheri!)

Where the rubber meets the road. I was thinking about this on my way to work this morning--perseverance.

Definition:

1. determined continuation with something: steady and continued action or belief, usually over a long period and especially despite difficulties or setbacks.

I'm a believer that anything worth having is worth working for. I don't mind putting the work in. I never have. I'm past the stage of worrying about my pride. Right now, I just want my novel to be the best it can be. Send it off to boot camp and kick its tail!

It's go time. Are you ready?

I wonder if he omitted the "Self" part in the quote (the cynic in me couldn't resist ;) -- seriously, though, perseverance is definitely a key attribute in any endeavor.

Bring it on! I'm ready, girl. We can be Boot Camp buddies. :-)

Very true, Bane. And who doesn't love being a cynic?

Shannon--Sweet! Boot camp buddies. I would love to have or participate in a boot camp writing conference. Wouldn't that be fun?

Oh, and I'd like to apologize for my typing errors. I think corrected all of them. That's what I get for blogging and teaching at the same time!

Never give up Steph. If you are determined - you'll get there :)

Thanks Alliterative--I don't plan on giving up!

Steph, I know you have been a query fiend. How has it been going? I recall someone had asked you for a rewrite awhile back... How did that go?

Why is it that the most simple of comments are the most profound? There's no avoiding this one, there is only one way to get published and that's writing something in the first place.

I'm taking your post as a boot camp boot firmly kicking me in the rear. *Atten - tion ... forward march*

That's right, Chris. Get to work!

Hey Jen, right now I'm playing the agent waiting game! It's soooooo tough, but I'm optimistic!
