I read a lot. I mean, what writer doesn't really? But you know what? Most of the books I've read lately are missing that Wow Factor. You know the feeling: you can't put the book down. Who cares what else is going on in the rest of the world. You must finish that book!
What gives?
So here's my challenge to you: what's the last book you've read that gave you that Wow Factor? Would you mind sharing it? Because I'm sick of reading so-so, a-okay novels.

But first, a programming note. Posts will be a bit sporadic in the next few
weeks as I am headed to San Diego for the wonderment known ...

Oh, I love that wow factor - it's like a drug. The last one I literally could NOT put down was The Maze Runner. I heart that book so much! I also really enjoyed Paranormalcy - you'll love it. :-)
The Robber Bride, or The Handmaid's Tail, by Margaret Atwood :o)
I love chick lit and romance and I completely adored Meg Cabot's Queen of Babble series...devoured them!
While I've been entranced in Robert Jordan's world for what seems like FOREVER, the last books I read that completely WOWed me were The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. She has a new book out to start The Infernal Devices series that I cannot wait to read!! (It's on its way to my house right now...)

Loved Hunger Games and Catching Fire... but wasn't as happy with Mocking Jay.
Oh wow, thanks for all the great reads. I can't wait to get started. Guess I'll start at the top?
Maze Runner is on my list. Dashner sold the rights to 20th Century a few months ago and they're planning on making a movie based on the book.
Oh, I heard that one was good. Thanks for the reminder, Jen. I haven't visited the library in my new town here (mainly because I can't find it!), but I definitely have to now. I can't afford to buy all these books!
Tell me about it! My kids are killing me with all the books they want. All the Percy Jackson's, Vlad Todd Series, Leven Thumps, Farworlds, Charlie Bone... Sheesh! I think I own a library!
