Social Media! Tips Please!

Hi guys,

Just wondering how many social media sites you actively participate in. Besides blogging here, I'm also on Twitter (@stephdamore), LinkedIn (Stephanie (Taylor) Damore), Google+ (Stephanie Damore) and of course Facebook, but I use the last one for personal connections, not business. Do I have time to manage all these sites? No. Not if I want to be a productive employee and writer, but I try (although admittedly I let Google+ fall by the wayside).

Anywhooo, any of you have any social media management tips or tricks to share? I figure I better get a handle on this before I'm a uber-busy published writer :)

I stick with blogging and twitter, primarily, and a little FB. :-)

I'm fairly similar to you, Steph. I mostly use Facebook for friends/family, Google Plus for business networking, Twitter to announce blog posts and updates, LinkedIn just for a presence, and then I participate quasi-regularly in some writing forums like Authonomy/Goodreads/Amazon.

I believe regular blogging is probably the most effective thing I do to connect with perfect strangers online. Really like Google Plus for new business contacts (like you) but Facebook can't be ignored.

Jason, you're right about FB not being able to be ignored. I post content for my employer there almost every day. It's a marketer's dream! Lately I've been trying to figure out how to use LinkedIn more and even Twitter for my publishing contacts. I'm pretty sure I could spend all day networking.

You're so good at blogging, too. How do you keep up with it? I was good for a year, but now I'm sporadic at best. I keep thinking I'll post more regularly after I get this rewrite done (because I can't go through the query process alone now!).
