Good Morning! Good Mooorning!

Happy Monday everyone!

If your schedule is at all like mine, then you have too much to do and not enough time, which is why GOALS are so important. So this week, aside from my academic readings and writings, my goal is to finish revising BEAUTY SECRETS - thank you to the lovely Ms. Jessica Faust for her suggested revisions - and to send the MS out to MWA's writing contest. Yes, yes, you're right. The whole MWA writing submission thingy has been my goal for the last two weeks (or was it three?) BUT this week I will send it out!

Okay, so what about you? What are your writing goals this week?

Goal - Finish my novel... start revising... maybe start querying...maybe have people read it...

Is Jessica considering representing you? If so, congrats!!!

Finish my novel. Stay away from Facebook, blogging too much, and get "in tune" with myself tow write.

Rest from the weekend of travel too...

Goals are important. Beauty Secrets sounds very interesting from what you have on your website and I hope you do submit it to the MWA's writing contest.

My goals: revise current WIP, finish fiction piece for magazine submission

Hey Debra - Jessica passed on current representation, but gave me some good news regarding my idea (editors are open to it) and gave some suggestions for revisions, stating I can resubmit to her if I choose to make them (which of course I will)

Jen - I too had to take a break from blogging. Not just because of school either - my writing time is dwindling and I have to take the precious ME time to work on my MS. Although I can take a blogging break every now and then!

Thanks Regina! I've already got my entry form and all that jazz ready to go for MWA. Now I just have to decide how much more revision I should do before sending it off!

Good luck with your magazine fiction piece.

Wow Bane - That's a lot of goals. Surely you're not going to get to that all this week... are you? If so, that's awesome. You must have Mr. Bransford's work ethic. Something I could use a dose of!

Goals are like bullets - they pass right through me (not sure what that means, but for some reason I was reminded of a South Park episode I saw recently with a midget motivational speaker egged on by Mr. Cartman :)

Good luck w/ Jessica and MWA (which makes me think of NWA for some odd reason) -- that'd be pretty cool.

My writing goal this week is a roundabout one. I plan to finish compiling my beta-reading notes for a fellow writer's manuscript, so that I can (without guilt) get my critique from her... then consider the four beta-reading critiques I've received for my own novel and make a list of all that I need to do while revising - which will begin NEXT week. Phew!

P.S. Good luck with your own revision, Steph. However did you get Jessica Faust to suggest some revisions?

Hi Laura - good luck compiling your revisions. Its great that you have so many helpful beta readers.

Re: Jessica Faust - I sent her my query and she requested a partial. From there she sent me a follow up email with suggested revisions. It was great to have an agent give me her two cents - it was a first!

Wow, cool. Yeah, I figured out some of that after I asked. Oops. That'll teach me to read ALL the comments first. (she ducks her head sheepishly)

Anyhoo, even though JF didn't offer representation, getting some free feedback is an AWESOME thing. Congrats!

Cool, Steph! Congratulations! It must feel so good to have an agent take an interest. :)

Bane - "Goals are like bullets..." Great line! :)

I start grad school this week - my writing goal is to limber my fingers up for all those papers....

Steph,

That's so exciting you're getting a nibble! Promising... ;)

Thanks everyone for the well wishes.

Mira - I know what you mean about papers. I'm finishing one up this morning on "Understanding Plato's Mimesis," which required the reading of The Republic - ick.

Steph,

I'm so sorry.

I hope you're okay.

Scotch might help. If not, try Bourbon.
