Oh, the end of the semester, how I hate you so.
Let me take that back.
I love that it's the end of the semester and I have the entire month off (no teaching until Jan 6th--sweet!), but I hate grading and the hundreds of emails students send me. You think you wouldn't want to annoy your instructor when they're calculating your final grade, right? Who and the heck waits until after the semester ends to ask about a missing assignment from three months ago? Or who emails their instructor three times in 24 hours to ask about their final grade. LEAVE ME ALONE PEOPLE!
Gesh.
Would you ever do these things? Please tell me no.
Just more motivation to publish my novels. If I'm going to be harassed by anyone, I'd rather have it be my agent or editor, or adoring fans. (Hey, I'm just saying, it would be better.)
With that being said, on to editing! I would say querying, but I'm saving that for after the holidays. I guess I have plenty of time to write, too. Oh, the possibilities.
Happy writing my fair penned friends!

This week! Books!
But first, a programming note. Posts will be a bit sporadic in the next few
weeks as I am headed to San Diego for the wonderment known ...

Ah yes, the ever-reviled end-of-semester ritual where you have to calculate final grades. I know the complaint well from various teachers (my mother included).
Personally, I always wanted to prolong knowing my final grade. That way I can convince myself I did better than I actually did.
Isn't self-delusion grand?
I was about to ask if you'd entered the contest, and then I saw your entry over at FtP. So never mind :)
Happy break from school!!! Hopefully you'll fin some peace soon!!! Oh how nice it will be to have a few weeks of nothing but writing!!!! I have this one full day to myself and I am elated!!
Yep, I'm still thinking up more entries too!
Stephanie - Good luck with your free day! Get lots of good stuff written. Stop by Matt's blog to enter his 10 word contest, too!
Continue the countdown. It'll be over soon. We get out for break Friday after school, so I just keep repeating 3 more days, 3 more days, 3 more days... ;-)
Ah, the oh-so-fun life of the teacher. Perhaps you can reject 90% of the emails and ask for follow-ups on the remaining 10.
Shannon--I'll count down with you!
Bane--love it. What a brillant idea. Thanks for making me laugh.
Congrats on the end of the semester, and I say let the students suffer! That's what my professors did, ha! Or maybe you're probably super nice and try your best to answer their questions. I only taught third grade and at that age all they wanted back were spelling tests.
I liked Bane's reply, double ha!

I'm in the same boat! We should share some Mai Tais and pretend we're on a Mediterranean cruise.
I love knowing I'm almost done, but grading exams SUCKS!
