Jumpin' on the Bandwagon

I finally did it. Numerous people told me to read the Sookie Stackhouse novels, AKA TrueBlood, and after years of putting it off, I finally did. And guess what? I liked them. A lot.

Why did I wait so long to read them? Well, every now and then I like to thumb my nose at pop culture. You know, read the lesser known authors, ignore the masses.

What about you? Is there a book you took forever to read (for whatever reason) and then low and behold, you read it and liked it?

My son tried for three years to get me to read The Lightning Thief. I always had something I wanted to read more. When I finally broke down and read them, I was hooked by chapter three of the first book! :-)

Well, I'm one of the few humans left in the country (the world?) who hasn't picked up the first Twilight book yet. I tend to snub whatever's getting the most buzz too!

And I haven't read any of Suki's books, either :P They're on my list though (as are the Twilight saga books)!

I haven't read Harry Potter, but I'm saving them for when my daughter is older. I've read Twilight and the first four books of the Sookie Stackhouse series. And I loved the Percy Jackson series.

Percy Jackson is another series I've said I'll read, but haven't yet. Same goes for Hunger Games. Looks like I've got alotta reading to do. Now for Twilight, I just couldn't resist, and read them all. I could do without the hype, but I liked the story.
